Jim grew up in a Christian home where his parents watched The 700 Club frequently. Their faith became his faith, but it wasn’t until he faced his own challenges in life that he developed a personal relationship with Jesus. 

When Jim was writing the book Inner Excellence, he asked his friend to make sure it lined up with the Bible. She told him about the word Zoe, which is in the Bible a lot. It means absolute fullness of life. Jim focused his book on living the Zoe life and letting everything be added to you. 

THE DAY THINGS TURNED AROUND

On January 12, 2025, Jim was walking in Dallas, Texas. It was a somber time in his life: his mother was dying, business was slow, and he couldn't pay the balance on his credit cards. While looking up at a skyscraper, he felt a question come to mind: Jim, would you rather own that building outright or have the book you’ve just written? Jim immediately chose the book. A few hours later, his life changed forever. 

Wide receiver AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles was televised reading Inner Excellence on the sidelines during the NFL Wildcard playoff game. The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl and AJ Brown read the book on the sidelines every game. 

A few days after the Wildcard game, Jim was in Philadelphia and was asked by someone on the street for money. So, Jim went to the ATM to withdraw some cash. First, he tried to get out $300 but got the message “insufficient funds.” Then, he tried $200, but that didn’t work either. Finally, he was able to withdraw $100.  He gave him the money and a few days later his mortgage payment bounced and his checking account was overdrawn--the same week that Inner Excellence became a #1 bestseller. 

After Tom Brady talked about Inner Excellence during the Wildcard game, Jim’s phone started going crazy. Message after message telling him about what was going on. Since Jim missed the Eagles’ and Packers’ Wild Card game, he decided to watch it later. When he saw Eagles’ AJ Brown sitting on the sidelines between plays, reading his book, Inner Excellence, he was amazed at how much press it got. By the next morning, his book shot to #1 on Amazon which greatly relieved his dire financial difficulties. Within three months, Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group (one of the largest US publishers) negotiated a deal to publish Inner Excellence and an upcoming second book.

PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING

As a former professional outfielder for the Chicago Cub organizations, he was living his dream. Yet, after injuries forced him to retire, he felt lost. Jim went from professional baseball to driving for FedEx. Eventually, doors began to open for him to train and coach others.

Jim’s struggles with performance anxiety and self-worth led him to research how elite athletes perform with peace and confidence under immense pressure. This journey culminated in the creation of the Inner Excellence system and the publication of the book by the same name.

If you ask Jim what the core message of the book really boils down to, he says, “The thesis of the book is this: Self-centeredness leads to fear. Selflessness is fearless.”

The Inner Excellence system found in his book is contrary to what the world teaches us. For example, instead of leading with strength, Jim says we should lead with humility. 

He says that fear of failure paralyzes us and usually stems from self-centeredness. People who are afraid to fail will never try. If you don’t try, you don’t grow. 
Jim compels us to examine our lives by asking these questions: Which path are you on? If you find your identity through what you do or what you have, does that give you real peace and fulfillment? If those things or achievements were taken from you, who would you be?

12-year-old Allen was playing with his friends when he accidentally ran into a branch that struck his right eye. “It poked my eye and it hurt so bad,” Allen told CBN. “I went home and checked it in the mirror but I couldn’t see anything. I got scared so I didn’t tell my parents ‘cause I thought they might get mad at me.” 
 
But Allen’s mom, Susan, noticed right away that his eye was bloodshot. “He wouldn’t tell me what happened,” Susan recalled. “His playmates said that he had sore eyes. So, I put some herbal medicine on his eye and gave him safety glasses to wear."

Then Allen’s eyesight started to get worse. “We were reading his schoolwork together, but he couldn’t read. He started to cry,” said Susan, her own eyes now filled with tears. “I can’t see anything. Then he finally told me what happened.” 
 
“I was scared because I thought that I might go blind,” said Allen. “I couldn’t read, make a kite or play outside. One time I even stepped on a broken piece of glass with my bare feet because I couldn’t see well.”
 
“I felt so sorry for my son. Kids would call him one-eye,” I thought said Susan. “We didn’t even have money to take him to the eye doctor.” 
 
Allen’s father earns eight dollars a day as a laborer. It took a month for them to save enough to finally get his eye checked. That’s when a doctor diagnosed him with a traumatic cataract. The specialist said he urgently needed surgery that would cost seventeen hundred dollars. “I felt weak when he said that,” Susan said. “I thought, ‘Is there any hope for my son to get this surgery?’” 
 
One day while Operation Blessing was delivering food to the community during the pandemic, we met Allen and arranged for him to receive free surgery to repair the traumatic cataract in his eye. “When I opened my eyes after the surgery I could see clearly! I am so happy because I can help my mom now. Instead of fear I now feel joy!” said the grateful boy. 

“God used Operation Blessing to bless us! We are so grateful to you, because of you, our lives that were once dark are now bright!” added Susan.
 

Sandi Angel, a photography enthusiast from Sidney, Montana, cherished capturing the beauty of nature until she faced the potential loss of her eyesight due to wet macular degeneration. The disorder, marked by abnormal blood vessel leakage into the retina, posed the threat of blindness. Her doctor prescribed lifelong, painful eye injections for treatment. Despite the ordeal, Sandi found solace in watching The 700 Club, where on April 27th, 2022, she heard a declaration of healing for eyesight.

She heard host Ashley Key say, “I believe that the Lord is healing eyesight right now. The left eye, I believe that God is healing that for you right now. Claim this for yourself, receive it. Receive the healing from God who sees you and loves you. He heals you right now.” Sandi exclaimed, “I said that's for me! And I just knew it was for me. I knew it in my heart. And I jumped up. That's for me! I felt important. All of the sudden, I felt like I was seen but I know I always was seen.”

Embracing the message, she felt a deep sense of significance and faith. Days later, as she was prepared for another painful injection, her doctor unexpectedly shared that her wet macular degeneration had vanished, a miraculous outcome that defied medical expectations. Sandi is now free from injections and continues to receive positive reports from her eye doctor, acknowledging God's profound care and miraculous intervention.

In the beautiful country of Costa Rica, a young boy named Jose faced numerous challenges from a very young age. As the second son in a family of six siblings, Jose grew up with many physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
